Excellent way to spend 2 minutes of your life: Flight of the starlings video

Reminded me of Winged Migration, so I bought a copy (used, because I'm cheap) for the grandkids.

  3. Ornithologists have studied the flocks which do this in the Peak District of England; they reckon the largest flights number about half a million starlings. Why don't they collide? Greased lightning reflexes. They constantly adjust their position to keep a clear space between them and the birds around them - but it still has a touch of magic when you watch them do their stuff.
