Here's a compilation of all 150,966 deaths so far on Game of Thrones (NSFW - violence)

WARNING - Not safe for work due to violence.

I suppose it's possible, if you're a Game of Thrones fan, that you enjoy these violent death scenes so much that you want to be able to see them all again. I barely made it through the first time.

Valyrian steel, length of the seasons, dragon biology: The Science of Game of Thrones, bonus geological map

For Game of Thrones fans, Joe Hanson of It's OK To Be Smart (youtube channel) put together this excellent video about the science of Westeros. By the way, he refers to the name of the planet as Hodor - is that true?

Referred to in the video is this excellent map by Generation Anthropocene describing the geology of Game of Thrones - go there for a larger version and links to explanations of the geological events discussed:

NSFW: Hodor (Kristian Nairn) Describes His Awkward Game of Thrones Nude Scene (Includes original scene)

For Game of Thrones fans: body part language in the interview is possibly NSFW, but no swearing.

The scene (below) was very brief - nineteen seconds of him emerging from the woods before Bran tells him to go get dressed. Why he needed a fourteen inch prosthetic attached to a thong is beyond me, but it's a great story.
"I had a huge prosthetic penis strapped on to me in a very, very uncomfortable way. The (fake) public hair was plotted into my own pubic hair and glued... so for weeks later I would be finding pieces of prosthetic penis attached to my own."
The story got worse as Nairn had to deal with hundreds of onlookers, loud, rutting pheasants nearby and a power outage.

Another NSFW warning for the scene itself:

Supercut of aphorisms from Game of Thrones, Seasons 1-3

As Tywin Lannister says, "The lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep."*

Which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Johnson:
"A fly, Sir, may sting a stately horse and make him wince; but one is but an insect, and the other is a horse still."

Game of Thrones Wine Map: The Wines of Westeros

Via Vinepair
If you’re a fan of HBO’s Game Of Thrones or George R.R. Martin’s five (and counting) A Song of Ice and Fire books you know that the wine flows freely in Westeros. Noble men and women pine for sweet Arbor Golds. Strongwines from Dorne are highly sought after. The Brothers of the Night’s Watch slug back hot mulled wine. Daenerys Targaryen, far away on the continent of Essos, sips exotic wines unknown to the masses back in Westeros.
With all that wine being drunk, all the time, we realized that there simply had to be other wines being grown on Westeros. Wine, however, isn’t the easiest thing to grow. Predictable seasons define a grapevine’s lifecycle. The only logical explanation is that in a world where magic stretches winters and summers out over many years, a benevolent hand aids everyone’s favorite grape. And as long as magic is at work, we’ll speculate further that wine can grow in a few climates that would be rather inhospitable back here on Earth. While the Starks weren’t growing any wine in The North, we’ve ‘discovered’ Westeros’s other wines. We’ve put together a map to help you plan your visit to wine country in Westeros.

Vanity Fair has the cast of Game of Thrones on the cover of their April issue, and although the article doesn't seem to be available online (I haven't searched that hard, but I didn't see it), they do have a teaser page here with some gorgeous images and a video interview (below) asking the cast who should end up on the iron throne.

First, the new trailer:

You can't actually go to Westeros, of course, but you can go to all of the places the show was filmed, including but not limited to Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Malta, Croatia and Morocco.
